Let's harmonize people...

Students

Alright!

We’ve spent the past three weeks listening to musical examples, discussing and considering, then mapping out the History of Jazz from the early twentieth century to the present.

Now, it’s time to see how others perceive the same subject. We will be visiting the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture which features a well rounded exhibit on the musical style of Jazz and its history next month.

Be sure to review your notes. Don’t forget your notepads! We’ll be taking many more while in the museum. There’s sure to be a quiz on our findings

Welcome back to our site!

Here you will find the scheduling of all our field trips. You will notice the trip to the Botanical Gardens in the Bronx has been changed from October 24th to the 31st. It’s OK if you child wears a costume. For those who will meet us at the end of our trip, we plan to leave at 2:00pm. Please meet us at the main entrance at this time. All other students whose parents are unable to come will have to return to the school building as planned.

The Halloween Walk will start a little later giving you time to catch up since your last visit to the Gardens.

Our tour at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture begins promptly at 10:00. To give us the time needed, we will leave by 9:00am. We would love to have you. You have the choice of either meeting us at school or the Center.

As always if you’ve any questions you can either reach me at school by phone or by email. Good to see you again and come back often.
